About this role
The Logistics Planner I coordinates daily transportation and distribution activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. This role supports supply chain operations by planning shipments, monitoring inventory levels, scheduling deliveries, and maintaining accurate documentation. It demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Track days on hand (DOH) levels at the OCSC to prevent short shipping customers. Monitor design levels across locations to ship correct designs and avoid obsolescence. Create and track orders to outside warehouses while coordinating inbound and outbound carrier deliveries for on-time performance.
Work closely with warehouse, transportation, and customer service teams to meet service level expectations. Communicate routing instructions and schedule changes with CEVA Logistics, Honda's logistics provider. Maintain compliance with company policies and safety standards throughout operations.
Assist in creating and processing obsolete inventory (DOI). Analyze data, procedures, and processes for continuous improvement and cost savings. Contribute to cross-functional value-added and growth projects for internal and external customers.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or Technical Certificate
- 1-3 years' experience in production, material planning or warehouse operations
- Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets and pivot tables) and Microsoft Word
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Responsibilities
