This position oversees and directs the product purchasing team for efficient execution of purchase orders, costing, compliance, and reporting. Managers strategically align their portfolio with the broader strategy of the Innvictis Brand and overall business. The role demands high tactical development and execution critical to retail and distribution profitability and sustainability.

Day-to-day involves facilitating supplier product exchange programs for efficient seasonal product utilization and optimized terms. Collaborate with suppliers on projections, shipping timelines into regions using DCs, and corporate chemical direction. Coordinate sales and procurement forecasts plus distribution efforts for inventory placement in the Simplot Grower Solutions system.

The team works within an integrated farm-to-table portfolio including food processing, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, and cattle production. This environment supports agriculture-related enterprises with up to 25% travel. Opportunities focus on process optimization and supplier management for business growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years related experience and/or training
  • At least three years of management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of crop protection products including uses, supply sources, and replacement or alternatives
  • Experience with agricultural procurement processes and supplier requirements
  • Experience performing analytical analysis using Excel
  • Experience with Agvance and using Power BI
  • Experience optimizing processes and creating standard operating procedures

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct the product purchasing team ensuring purchase orders, pricing, terms, compliance, inventory utilization, and reporting are executed efficiently
  • Facilitate supplier product exchange programs through the team for most efficient utilization of seasonal products while maximizing exchange dollars to optimize terms
  • Work with suppliers through the team to manage projections by product and develop timelines for shipping product into regions utilizing DCs strategic to specific markets
  • Collaborate with Supplier Relations and Strategy Leads to communicate and coordinate corporate chemical direction with the team to optimize purchasing
  • Manage supplier contractual commitments, price protection, swap programs, returns, and inventory protection
  • Collaborate with sales organization to create sales and procurement forecasts
  • Coordinate efforts between distribution and procurement team to determine first placement of purchased inventory into the Simplot Grower Solutions system and decisions on when to buy versus move product internally
