About this role

TPS Healthcare, based at Measham near Swadlincote, Derbyshire, is part of Vital Healthcare and provides services and supplies medical equipment and devices to the healthcare sector. We have a full-time vacancy for Warehouse Operative offering 40 hours per week on permanent contract. Hours are 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

You will work as part of a team at the Measham warehouse and distribution centre, responsible for picking, packing and despatch of medical equipment and supplies. Flexi-truck driving experience is an advantage. Ensure all stock and process-related activities follow company practices, procedures and quality system without error and safely.

Handle goods inwards by checking, sorting and put-away of products received. Maintain general housekeeping to keep stock in a safe and clean environment. Report any discrepancies or problems to line manager without delay and communicate excellently with relevant departments.

Participate in stock taking, regular cycle counting involving some weekend or after-hours work, and processing of customer returns. Open and close the facility as needed. Engage in appropriate training as required from time to time.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year’s warehouse experience in goods in, put-away, pick, pack, dispatch and stock control
  • Good numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Friendly, flexible and willing to work as part of a team
  • Good organisational and communications skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and own initiative
  • Hands-on experience with warehouse computer systems advantageous, especially SAP
  • Physical good health record as lifting work is essential
  • Experienced in operation of materials handling equipment/forklifts desirable
