About this role
TOMRA, an international recycling company, is looking for an experienced Transportation Supervisor. This position serves as the direct supervisor of the drivers, both one-on-one and in groups. Assist and conduct hiring, training, and disciplining of drivers to ensure productive pickups of empty bottles and cans at retail locations.
Conduct pre-shift meetings for the driver workforce and communicate with other departments' supervisors and managers. Provide summaries to dispatcher, identify driver issues, and provide corrective actions. Report drivers over 10 hours to GM on a daily basis and update customer information.
Work closely with the transportation manager, dispatcher, and driver workforce. Manage, evaluate, and engage team drivers while handling DOT/OSHA compliance and all daily payroll functions. Validate equipment in commercial vehicles and collaborate with safety manager on risk identification from vehicle data.
Review key operating indicators, recommend operational improvements including route changes, and provide daily production reports to General Manager. Ensure DOT requirements are met, including physicals, randoms, and maintaining all DOT files and logs. Requirements
- Previous experience as a Driver or Dispatcher preferred
- Background or education in Supply Chain or Logistics
- 1-2 years of DOT and fleet management experience
- Willingness to be flexible when projects demand
- CDL-A helpful but not required
